BARCO Introduces the Perfect Presentation Tool for Large Audiences in Bright Environments

Press Release  |  Jan 1, 2001

Barco introduces the bright, yet small and silent BarcoReality 6500 DLC

Kennesaw, GA – Barco, the world leader in large screen video and graphics display technology, has introduced the BarcoReality 6500 DLC. Combining an impressive 5,000 lumens and a native S-XGA panel resolution with an extreme image quality and exceptional flexibility in a small and silent design makes this projector ideal for dynamic and compelling visual presentations in demanding environments.

Bright

Thanks to a new efficient lamp design, the 1.8" S-XGA polysilicon LCD panels with Micro Lens Arrays (MLA) and the ultimate matching of all optical components in the projector design, the BarcoReality 6500 DLC delivers brilliant images with vibrant colors and an impressive 5,000 lumens. "We are excited by the extremely fast evolution in technology and the tremendous performance increase we have made on the BarcoReality 6000 DLC platform," said Johan Stockman, Product Group Manager for Barco's Corporate Product Group. Johan Debaere, Public Relations Manager added, "If we would have told the market two years ago we would be able to reach this extreme light output with a projection unit this small, they would have never believed us. Today, we are proud to tell you, this bright dream has become reality."

Display any source

The BarcoReality 6500 DLC features an impressive array of input signal connections: Video, S-Video, RGB, VGA and SDI/SDO. An optional FireWire input allows the interconnection of a wide range of computers with digital video cards and consumer electronics products, such as digital camcorders, TVs, VCRs, and digital cameras without image degradation. Combining this feature with the native S-XGA panel resolution and Barco's patented Pixel Map Processor, allows the projector to display all sources from VHS video to the latest HDTV formats to high-resolution workstations with resolutions up to 2000 x 1280 pixels.

Versatile

To maximize the unit's versatility, the projector can be equipped with a wide range of easy-to-replace fixed focal and zoom lenses ranging between 1.4 and 7 times the screen width. Due to their unique optical design, these lenses allow the unit to work equally well in both On-Axis and Off-Axis positions. In fact, using these zoom lenses the BarcoReality 6500 DLC can be installed in up to a 120% Off-Axis configuration without any keystone correction.

Silent

The BarcoReality 6500 DLC has been specially designed to generate the absolute minimum acoustic noise. The low acoustic noise profile avoids unwanted audience distraction.

Plug 'n Play

The BarcoReality 6500 DLC comes with the AutoImage feature, which automatically optimizes all display settings for the incoming source signal. A backlit infrared remote control with Quick Access Keys provides instant access to set-up common and user-defined functions such as motorized zoom and focus, lens shift, contrast and brightness, as well as other parameters.

These features make the BarcoReality 6500 DLC a powerful presentation tool for boardrooms, training centers, conference rooms, education centers, auditoriums and demonstration centers and CAD/CAM imaging as well as for rental and staging events that demand uncompromising image quality and durability.
