NEW LCD, DLP, CRT FRONT-PROJECTION DTV MONITORS COMBINE FORM AND FUNCTION
LAS VEGAS, 1/9/2001 -- New LCD, DLP and CRT front-projection monitors from Zenith Electronics Corporation are adding a new dimension to high-definition television (HDTV) and enhanced-definition television (EDTV) viewing for the home and office.
LCD - Built around advanced TFT-LCD (thin film transistor-liquid crystal display) technology developed by its parent company, LG Electronics Inc., Zenith is displaying two new front-projection LCD HDTV monitors at the 2001 Consumer Electronics Show.
LXG-200 - This unit offers up to 2,000 ANSI Lumens of light output, a projection size ranging from 30 to 300 inches, and a throw distance of 4.9 to 51 feet. The LXG-200 will be available in the second quarter of 2001.
LXG-120 - This unit offers up to 1,200 ANSI Lumens of light output, a projection size of 40 to 300 inches, and a throw distance of 5 to 54 feet. With a suggested retail price of $6,495, the LXG-120 is available now.
Both projectors feature true XGA (1024 x 768) resolution and are compatible with NTSC, HDTV, PAL, SECAM, NTSC 4.43, PAL-M, PAL-N, UXGA/SXGA (compressed), SVGA and VGA modes. Other features include autotracking, flip horizontal/vertical, digital zoom, freeze video, blanking, and a laser pointer remote control. Zenith offers a two-year warranty on parts and labor, a 90-day lamp warranty and a 24/7 customer support hotline for its LCD projector line.
DLP™ - Zenith's high-end Digital Light Projectors combine the performance of up to XGA native resolution and the convenience of lightweight portability for high-end home theater applications. Built around single-chip DMD™ (Digital Micromirror Device) display technology, Zenith's DXG-210 and DSV-110 portable "TheaterLite™" video/data projectors are designed to provide superior home theater projection performance from any input source, including digital set-top boxes, DVD players, VCRs, personal computers and other devices.
DXG-210 - This FCC Class B-approved HDTV monitor offers 1,000 ANSI Lumens, with true XGA native resolution (1024 x 768) and compressed SXGA resolution (1280 x 1024). With selectable 16:9 and 4:3 aspect ratios, the DXG-210 offers a video enhanced color wheel, one-button auto image setup, gold BNC connectors for RGB inputs, and S-Video/composite video inputs. It is compatible with NTSC, HDTV, PAL, and SECAM video modes. The DXG-210 will be available in March 2001.
The DSV-110 offers up to 700 ANSI Lumens of light output, with true 800 x 600 SVGA resolution, and XGA (1024 x 768) compressed resolution, with switchable 16:9 or 4:3 video inputs. The DSV-110 is compatible with both PC and Macintosh computers, NTSC, PAL and SECAM formats. Other features include: Video Enhanced Color Wheel; Motorized Zoom Lens and Focus; One-button Auto Image Setup; Built-in 10-Watt Amplified Speaker with Adjustable L/R Audio Output; S-Video/Composite Video Inputs; PC RGB Inputs; and PC mouse emulation when using the remote control.
The DSV-110 carries a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $7,995 and joins Zenith's popular DSV-100 portable DLP data projector (suggested retail price $6,995). Zenith offers a two-year warranty on parts and labor, a 90-day lamp warranty and a 24/7 customer support hotline for its DLP projector line.
CRT - Zenith's all-new Pro1200X front-projection HDTV monitor and Pro900X front-projection HDTV monitor are both ideal for high-definition displays in high-end home theaters and in commercial applications, from sports bars and restaurants to conference centers and schools.
The Pro1200X, designed to project crystal-clear video images from 4.6 to 20 feet in diagonal, is ideally suited for a wide range of home theater applications as well as data display. Featuring 8-inch electromagnetically focused CRTs and high-definition, liquid-coupled, color-corrected HD215 lenses, the Pro1200X provides images with HDTV resolution up to 1080p and data resolution up to SXGA. The Pro1200X, which carries a manufacturers suggested retail price of $29,999, is available now.
Zenith's popular Pro900X HDTV monitor, with 7-inch CRTs, is also currently available at a manufacturer's suggested retail price of $12,600. The Pro900X, long recognized for its combination of performance and value, is ideal for commercial and high-end home theater applications, delivering dramatic HDTV images up to 20 feet diagonally.
