BARCO Extends Family of High-Brightness DLPTM Projection Technology
The new BARCO SLM "Executive" Series sets new standards for high profile presentation venues
NAB, Las Vegas, April 24, 2001 - BARCO presents 'the image reference' for corporate presenters who want to impress their customers: the BARCO SLM "Executive" Series, including the G5 (XGA) and R6 (S-XGA) projectors. The combination of state-of-the-art DLPTM technology from Texas Instruments and BARCO's expertise in large screen projector development makes this projection device a unique solution for high-profile presentation venues and other applications where image quality is extremely important.
Exceptionally High Picture Quality
The BARCO SLM "Executive" Series features high-resolution digital micro-mirror devices and an extremely powerful optical system driven by a 1200 watt Xenon lamp to deliver high quality images with an amazing 5,000 ANSI lumens!
BARCO's high performance Pixel Map Processing technology further enhances the picture quality. In fact, this BARCO SLM "Executive" provides the user with exceptional performance on all sources from the standard analog VHS, or S-VHS players to virtually any digital video source as well as the output of high resolution computers and workstations.
Truly Innovative
The BARCO SLM "Executive" offers the user a broad range of innovative features, which give presentations a more professional look. Using the Picture-in-Picture capability, the projectors can simultaneously display two images (i.e. one video signal and one data source) on a single screen. The True Seamless Switching with predefined transition effects enable smooth switching between sources - no freezing of the last image or fade to black - a feature no other competitive projector can match.
When used in multi-screen applications, the Linked Constant Light Output feature balances the brightness level of multiple projectors, resulting in a uniform brightness over the entire display wall. Click-and-PlayTM lenses with a throw ratio ranging between 0.8 and 8 times the screen width and a broad lens shift of 71% horizontally and 118% vertically further enhance the installation flexibility and simplify the on-site adjustment.
Thanks to its modular structure, the SLM "Executive" projector significantly facilitates the accessibility to serviceable parts, such as the lamp house, power supply, dust filter and electronic input drawer. The optional sealed optics/shutter package further reduces maintenance time and costs, allows the projector to be installed in environments where smoke and dust are present, and provides a completely dark screen when needed.
