BARCO Introduces Network-able Presentation Tool for Large Audiences in Bright Environments
Barco introduces the bright yet small and silent BarcoReality 6500 DLC
Kennesaw, GA - April 24, 2001 - BARCO has introduced a high brightness, network-able projection device for dynamic visual presentations in demanding environments: the BarcoReality 6500 DLC. This high-resolution LCD-projector offers a powerful presentation tool for boardrooms, training centers, conference rooms, education centers, auditoriums and demonstration centers and CAD/CAM imaging as well as for rental and staging events that demand uncompromising image quality and durability.
Based on a new lamp design, high aperture poly-silicon LCD panels with Micro Lens Arrays (MLA) and the ultimate matching of all optical components, the BarcoReality 6500 DLC delivers brilliant images with vibrant colors and an impressive 5,500 lumens.
This compact S-XGA projector combines an impressive array of input signal connections with BARCO's patented Pixel Map Processor to display all analog and digital sources from VHS video to 2000 x 1280 pixel workstations. An optional Firewire input allows the interconnection of a wide range of computers with digital video cards and consumer electronics products, such as digital camcorders, TVs, and digital cameras without image degradation. The Auto Image feature automatically optimizes all display settings for the incoming source signal.
In addition, easy-to-replace lenses allow the projector to be installed at a broad range of distances from the screen and in any configuration, whether front or rear, on-axis or off-axis. A backlit infrared remote control provides instant access to set-up vital functions such as: motorized zoom and focus, lens shift, contrast and brightness, as well as other parameters.
Installing the optional Ethernet 10/100-Base T interface, the projector becomes an IP addressable device. Using the on-board web application, the user can access all vital functions of the projector from any location on the network. With just one mouse click, projector features are easily accessed (switching sources, changing brightness and contrast, adapting geometry, changing lens zoom, shift, focus, etc.). In addition, the user can get information on the general status of all projectors on the network. More advanced diagnostics inform the user of when to change the lamp and other electronic errors. The projector can be programmed to automatically send this information via e-mail to the user. In addition, the user can access this information by manually addressing the projector. Of course, security is not an issue, as access is only granted to those with an authorized user ID and password. This network capability makes service smarter, reduces the total cost of ownership and facilitates the integration of the projection device in the company.
