MITSUBISHI DIGITAL ELECTRONICS AMERICA ANNOUNCES X500, XL1, SL1 PROJECTORS SHIPPING
IRVINE, Calif., September 26, 2001 — Mitsubishi Digital Electronics America's Presentation Products Division, maker of award-winning, high-quality presentation and display products, announced today that it's newest projectors, announced last June at Infocomm, are currently shipping. Available through its exclusive dealer network, these new sRGB color-compliant projectors offer a range of exclusive technology, including Mitsubishi's award-winning ColorView™ Color Matrix, a sophisticated IRIS® (Intelligent Room Illumination Sensor) control, and Smart Hub network connectivity.
Each projector has a dual lamp mode, which allows users to conserve lamp life, decrease overall power consumption, and extend projector life through lower heat levels. Most importantly, this new mode lowers projector noise to almost inaudible levels when the conservative lamp mode is selected, so audience members focus on the presentation, not extraneous projector noise.
X500
At 3700 ANSI lumens, the X500 is one of the most versatile projector available in the market today. With its color management, video enhancement technology, and networking capabilities, the X500 offers features and functionality that appeals to both information technology and audio-visual customers.
The X500 is a 3-panel poly-silicon, Micro-Lens Array LCD projector that supports native XGA (1024 x 768 pixel) resolution with compressed SXGA, and over 16.7 million colors; has a contrast ratio of 400:1, a powered zoom lens, keystone correction, and remote control. At less than 16 pounds, the X500 is perfect for desktop or installed applications in corporate board rooms, schools, auditoriums, churches and hotels. Optional long and short throw lenses for more demanding conditions will also be available.
XL1/SL1
Mitsubishi Digital's XL1, an XGA data and video projector, and the SL1, an SVGA (800 x 600 pixels) are the smallest, lightest LCD projectors on the market today that feature the Microsoft® sRGB color profile. sRBG Color Profile reproduces the same natural color tones as most CRTs displays, as well as display devices such as LCD monitors, digital cameras, laptops, printers, and other SRGB-compliant products. When colors are reproduced more accurately, users are confident in expressing their ideas, creating more dynamic, vibrant, influential presentations.
Both projectors feature Mitsubishi's exclusive and award winning ColorView™ Natural Color Matrix. Lightweight at 6.4 lbs., these projectors offer 1000 ANSI lumens in a streamlined form factor and support 16.7 million colors. Unlike any others, both RGB and CMY color palettes can be independently controlled and adjusted like a graphic equalizer, offering presenters ultimate flexibility in creating more accurate colors and realistic images, in an easy-to-carry package.
PRICING AND WARRANTY
MSRP on the X500 is $13,995; the XL1 is $3,995; and the SL1 is $2995, with estimated street prices at $10,995; $3,695; and $2,695 respectively. These projectors come with a three-year warranty on parts and labor plus a 90-day warranty on the lamp. The X500 and XL1, like all Mitsubishi XGA models, comes with the Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA) Program, a comprehensive service provided for units under warranty that offers next business-day replacement for down units when or where available.
