CHRISTIE DIGITAL SYSTEMS' EXPANDS CONTROL ROOM SOLUTIONS WITH NEW HIGH PERFORMANCE CUBES AND MODULES
- INFOCOMM Sets Stage for Robust Product Line Expansion of Reliable, Valued Price-for-Performance, Customer-Focused Solutions -
Kitchener, ON - (June 13, 2001) - Christie Digital Systems, a pioneer in control room projection, announces it is expanding its line of purpose-built projection solutions to include two new high performance video and graphic wall cubes, a new XGA rear projection module and a new SXGA high performance rear projection module. The first two products in the series, the CX50-100U 50" rear projection cube and the RPMX-100U Rear Projection Module will be shown at INFOCOMM 2001.
"The Control Room market has been one of the main pillars of our business since the advent of the projection industry. We are continuing to invest heavily in both intellectual resources and in new solutions to demonstrate our leadership commitment in control room display technology. Major institutions around the world continue to choose Christie solutions for their most demanding applications. In fact, a major telecommunications player in Europe chose our display wall system to showcase its 96-screen control room", states Gerry Remers, president and COO at Christie Digital Systems.
The CX50-100U 50" XGA high performance cube follows on the path of Christie Digital's highly successful C50 stackable cube. This new product offering incorporates newer 0.7" XGA DLP™ single chip panel technology and includes newer features and advantages over other similar products in the marketplace. High reliability, low cost of ownership and excellent tiling performance are always key, but the CX50 also includes exciting new features such as a new industrial design which maintains a depth of only 24", both digital and analog inputs, an optional video decoder/scaler and an improved price/performance economy.
The RPMX-100U XGA Rear Projection Module follows the same path as its predecessor, the RPM. This product, designed for customized rear projection tiling applications, incorporates the newer technology features and options of the CX50 along with a unique, integrated six-axis adjustment system that provides for precise installation and operational setup.
Coming in the fall of 2001 is the new CX60-100U 60" XGA high performance cube. This new stackable cube will offer the same technology features of the CX50 with a larger screen size and an ultra shallow depth of only 27".
Following the CX60-100U will be Christie Digital's new SXGA Rear Projection Module, the RPMS-500Xe. This newer product design, which is currently in development, will offer many of the same high performance features of Christie Digital's DLV1280-DX rear screen projector but is based on single chip technology in a Rear Projection Module format and at a much lower price. This new projector, slated for Q1/2002 availability, will be a flagship high resolution Control Room projector offering high reliability and performance with purpose-built tiling features and an extremely good price/performance ratio. A large screen stackable SXGA cube will also be available utilizing this new projection platform.
"We are excited to be launching these new products at INFOCOMM and releasing our robust product roadmap. Ours is the business of creating solutions and making products that are highly reliable, offer the best cost for performance and are fully integrated into contemporary and existing systems. The newest cubes and rear projection modules are the first of many new product announcements we expect to make this year," says Jim Gavloski, senior product manager for Control Room Solutions.
All of our Control Room display products are based on DLP™ display technology - an adaptive technology that has proven extremely successful since the launch of the C50, RPM and DLV1280-DX. To this day, the DX industrial-designed projector still maintains its position as the best Control Room projection system on the market. A 3D rendering of the new SXGA single-chip DLP™ will also be shown at INFOCOMM.
