MOST VERSATILE MULTIMEDIA PROJECTOR

Kitchener, ON - (June 13, 2001) - Christie Digital Systems, providers of high performance projection solutions, is pleased to introduce Vivid Red - featuring the latest LCOS technology. The third in the Vivid series of projectors, Vivid Red is a reliable, exceptionally versatile projector that can easily be used in education, entertainment and business presentation venues, yet provides the functionality required by engineering and design firms that demand super high-resolution at a standard 4:3 image aspect ratio.

Vivid Red is the first projector from Christie Digital that features leading edge LCOS (Liquid Crystal on Silicon) technology using three 0.9" D-ILA™ panels with high optical efficiency. The panels reflect true 1365x1024 resolution images (almost 1.4 million pixels) with a 93% fill factor rate - the highest among current display devices. The high pixel factor rate virtually eliminates pixelization (no "screen door effect") resulting in smooth, film-like imagery. In combination with the efficient panels, the 270W SHP lamp with a typical lamp life of 1500 hours produces up to 1800 ANSI lumens and contrast ratio of 500:1.

In terms of source compatibility, Vivid Red features a built-in Digital Visual Interface (DVI-D) input for digital computer graphics, two analog RGB inputs with 15-pin HD and 5-BNC connections, RCA composite video input, S-Video and DTV/HDTV component input.

The standard built-in zoom lens 1.8 to 2.4:1 and digital zoom keystone ensure a perfectly rectangular image from 30" to 300" diagonal screen size.

By introducing Vivid Red, Christie Digital Systems becomes the only manufacturer in the world to offer products based on all major display technologies (from CRT, transmissive poly-Si LCD, DLP™ and the latest LCOS technology).
