CANON DEBUTS LV-S1 MICRO-PORTABLE MULTIMEDIA PROJECTOR
Advanced Technology In A Feature-Packed, Lightweight Projector That's Big on Performance, Not Price.
LAKE SUCCESS, NEW YORK, January 8, 2002 - Customers looking for the big difference in little projectors will find it with the new LV-S1 from Canon U.S.A., Inc., a subsidiary of Canon Inc. (NYSE: CAJ). This feature-packed micro-portable combines 1000 ANSI Lumen brightness with crisp resolution, in an affordable, compact package.
The LV-S1 incorporates a newly developed optical box, a Canon exclusive technology that improves the processing of light for superior color fidelity. For classroom presenters and business people on the go, this important advance provides enhanced image quality and a dramatic improvement over conventional designs. The LV-S1 delivers sharp Native SVGA resolution (800 x 600), and can also project XGA (1024 x 768).
From a variety of import sources including Canon digital cameras, digital camcorders, document cameras, the Canon PR-200S Presentation Assistant and PCs (Windows or Mac), the LV-S1 can project a 200-inch image at 90% uniform brightness. Component Video input is available for high quality display of DVD and HDTV video. Plug & Play connectivity allows the LV-S1 to automatically identify the input signal and adjusts accordingly, while an Image Select feature allows presenters to customize the display to best suit the source image.
"Holding an audience's interest requires outstanding image quality. The Canon LV-S1 delivers on this promise with brightness and performance viewers demand," says Yukiaki Hashimoto, vice president and general manager, Photographic Products Group, Canon U.S.A., Inc. "Customers who value Canon's quality and engineering will be impressed with the convenient size, features and price."
Weighing just six pounds, the projector is ideal for the mobile presenter. Ultra-quiet and distraction-free, the LV-S1 incorporates an intelligent design that holds fan noise to a low 37dB.
Convenient features include Digital Keystone Correction, which gives a square, undistorted image for angles up to +/- 20 degrees, and a 16X Digital Zoom, which enlarges sections of the projected image for a closer look. A wireless remote control allows access to all functions from anywhere in the room, while a USB mouse control function allows users to operate some PC functions with the mouse as well.
The Canon LV-S1 will be available in January 2002 at authorized Canon dealers, with a suggested list price of $2999.
