Stewart's FireHawk Screen Material is Now Shipping

Press Release  |  Feb 19, 2002

February 2002 - FireHawk is the newest screen material addition to Stewart's Hawk Family series. FireHawk is engineered specifically for the single chip DLP projector systems. The material's unique gray base combined with high gain enhances black levels, shadow detailing, color saturation, and increases the image's resistance of cross-light reflection.

This innovative screen material has already created an overwhelming demand. Introduced at CES and demonstrated with the popular 16:9 chip DLPs (such as Sim2 Seleco, Sharp, and Marantz), the FireHawk compliments each system beautifully.

With a gain of 1.35, FireHawk maintains a bright and vibrant image perfect for dedicated viewing environments. Even with some ambient light, the screen maintains black levels and is the most ambient light resistant front projection screen material Stewart has engineered. FireHawk is available in all fixed and motorized retractable frames.

A year ago, Stewart Filmscreen introduced their current best selling screen material, GrayHawk. GrayHawk was the first gray based screen material with optical coating designed for single gun digital projectors. As technology advanced, Stewart Filmscreen became aware of the growing need to engineer a screen specifically for the single chip DLP, creating a brighter image for larger viewing surface.

Viewing environments alter, but Stewart manufactures a screen material optimal for your unique system set-up. Contact your authorized Stewart dealer to help determine which screen is optimal for your projection environment.

Stewart Filmscreen has led the screen industry in new innovations since the 1940's. Stewart has two Academy Awards for Science and Technological Achievement. Stewart Filmscreen Corporation created such innovations as tab tensioning, seamless front and rear screens, traveling matte blue screen, Optawave (wide angle viewing envelope), GrayHawk and Microperfs (collaboration with Lucasfilm).
