MT1056 Enhances Previous Generation with 3000 ANSI Lumens of Brightness, Color Management System, Cabinet Control Panel Lock Feature

ITASCA, Ill., April 25, 2002-NEC Solutions (America), Inc. today introduced its latest projector, the MT1056, which improves upon NEC's award-winning MT50 Series to give users the superior choice for portable or fixed installation use in conference room and classroom applications.

"The MT1056 enhances our successful MT Series with increased brightness and an enhanced feature set for dynamic presentations with exceptional video and data quality in any education, corporate, religion, or government application," said Don Fasick, portable projector product manager for NEC Solutions America, Visual Systems Division. "And with the MT1056, users benefit not only from a high-performing projector, but from NEC's industry-leading service and support as well."

The 13.3-lb., LCD-based MT1056 offers a bright 3000 ANSI lumens as well as XGA native resolution for high performance even in rooms with significant ambient lighting. It also adds a cabinet control panel lock feature enabling users to prevent unauthorized projector setting access and adjustments.

The MT1056 is the first MT Series projector to incorporate NEC's exclusive VORTEX Technology Plus. This technology gives users enhanced abilities to easily fine-tune image coloring to their liking for the most natural, realistic colors and versatile image production available today in addition to a variety of preset color settings including sRGB.

With its built-in presentation viewer, the MT1056 enables users to download presentations from a PC card and leave their laptops at home. And users get even more flexibility thanks to the projector's Eco-Mode technology, which gives users a lower light output option for environments where full brightness isn't needed, extending the projector's lamp life from 1500 to 2500 hours for lower lamp replacement costs over the life of the projector.

The MT1056 is also easy to use due to NEC's exclusive AutoSense technology one-touch setup and operation and Advanced AccuBlend technology for excellent native and non-native resolution display up to UXGA.

NEC's new projector is backed by NEC's industry-leading warranty program, including a two-year limited parts and labor warranty and two years of InstaCare, which provides three business day repair and return or next business day replacement. According to Pacific Media Associates' recent 2001 Large Displays Reseller Survey, NEC ranked highest among all display manufacturers for the year for its warranty program, return/repair program, end-user support, knowledgeable support persons and responsive support persons.

Pricing and Availability

The MT1056 will be available in May through NEC Solutions America's nationwide network of channel partners at a list price of $9,995. For more information about the MT1056, please call 1-800-NEC-INFO or visit
