InFocus Introduces New Benchmark For Meeting Room ProjectorsLP650 Sets the Standard in Usability and Performance, Driving Everyday Projector Use
InFocus® Corporation (Nasdaq: INFS) (OSE: IFC), the worldwide leader in digital projection, introduces the LP®650, an easy-to-use, high performance meeting room projector designed to be a shared resource. The LP650 is the first of several InFocus projectors announced today supporting the company's new customer-centric product development strategy intended to make projector set-up, use and management faster and easier than ever before.
Based on findings from InFocus' year-long research into projector usage in meeting rooms and boardrooms, the LP650 incorporates design and packaging elements that significantly simplify projector use. The product's superior usability, combined with full-connectivity, brightness and rugged design make the LP650 perfect for government and business users who often share the projector with a group or between departments.
"The LP650's new customer-centric design makes it one of the easiest to use meeting room projectors on the market," said Benjamin Joy, InFocus business line manager, Meeting Room Solutions. "InFocus is committed to driving projector usage mainstream, and the LP650 is one of the first projectors that will help make that vision a reality."
Designed as a shared resource, the LP650 features 2500 lumens and an optical zoom lens, providing users with the flexibility to present in virtually any light condition and from anywhere in the room. The LP650 can also be connected to up to five sources simultaneously – 2 computer, 3 video – enabling seamless switching and integration of content and facilitating greater collaboration among workgroups. Through the M1-DA connector, the LP650 is also future-ready for wireless applications, enabling multiple users to share content without bulky connection cables. At 9.4 pounds and featuring a built in handle, it can be easily carried from meeting room to meeting room or between departments, and comes with a strong carrying case that offers safe storage and transport.
The LP650 uses the latest DLP™ technology from Texas Instruments yielding sharper, more colorful images than other projectors in its class. The LP650 also features Faroudja DCDI™ video processing from Sage Inc. for superb video, allowing users to incorporate clear, high-resolution images.
InFocus' Projector Manager™ software, which ships standard with the LP650, allows presenters to discreetly control the projector and incorporate functions such as picture-in-picture and digital zoom/magnify into their presentations, directly from the connected PC. The LP650 is also compatible with InFocus ProjectorNet™ via the built-in network interface connector (NIC). ProjectorNet management software enables IT professionals to monitor and control projectors across a network.
As part of InFocus Corporation's new customer-centric design, the LP650 features color-coded cables and connectors and comes with a compartmentalized carry case, designed like a tool kit, to keep cables and connectors organized for fast, easy set-up. Usability enhancements include the 13-button keypad located on the top of the projector, which provides access to 90 percent of the projector's functionality. Presenters can also scroll and select from an easy-to-use menu interface, much like that of cellular phone.
Warranties and Availability
The LP650 will be available in August at an estimated street price of US $4,699.00. This projector comes with a two-year standard product warranty and one year of ProXchange service.
