InFocus Announces New Proxima-Brand Portable Projector
DP1000x Offers Ultimate Portability and Performance
WILSONVILLE, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 10, 2002--InFocus(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:INFS) (OSE:IFC), the worldwide leader in digital projection, announces the Proxima(R) DP1000x, a digital projector that offers both feature-packed performance and extreme portability, enabling business professionals to conduct meetings in a variety of environments and facilitating collaboration on the go.
The DP1000x has been optimized for flexibility and portability, weighing only 2.4 pounds (1.1kg) and measuring less than 90 cubic inches (1500 cubic centimeters). With 1100 lumens of brightness, 800:1 contrast ratio and XGA resolution, the DP1000x delivers bright, vivid images (incorporating DLP(TM) technology by Texas Instruments) in virtually any environment and operates at a whisper-quiet 32 dB. With an optical zoom lens and focus, presenters can resize the projected image with the touch of a button versus moving the projector back and forth to fit a room's specifications. In addition, the DP1000x features intelligent electronics to optimize the projected image based on a room's existing light conditions.
"The Proxima DP1000x is the smallest and most portable Proxima projector yet," said Pierre Richer, vice president of marketing for the Americas at InFocus. "The flexibility and portability offered by the DP1000x will enable mobile professionals to collaborate anywhere and anytime."
The DP1000x can connect to VCRs and DVD players through its composite- and S-video (including PAL, NTSC and SECAM) input sources and offers on-board audio with a 1-Watt speaker, allowing for true multi-media presentations. The DP1000x also features an M1-DA connector, making it future-ready for InFocus wireless applications.
The DP1000x also comes with InFocus' ProjectorManager(TM) software, which allows projector control directly from a PC. ProjectorManager enables the presenter to adjust and control the source, color, tint, brightness and keystone from the PC and also features picture-in-picture and magnification functionality.
Warranties and Availability
The Proxima DP1000x will be available in mid-October at an estimated street price of US$3,499. This projector comes with a two-year standard product warranty and one year of ProXchange service.
