InFocus Enhances Best-Selling Installation Projector
DP6870 Offers Greater Flexibility and Increased Lumens
WILSONVILLE, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Nov. 7, 2002--InFocus(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:INFS)(OSE:IFC), the worldwide leader in digital projection, announces the Proxima(R) DP6870, an entry-level installation projector ideal for conference rooms, classrooms and training and community facilities. The DP6870 provides users the brightness, flexibility and connectivity needed for a broad range of applications from traditional displays and presentations, to videoconferencing and distance learning.
An upgrade of the best-selling DP6860, the DP6870 is an LCD projector featuring native XGA (1024x768) resolution and offering the same dependability as its predecessor with greater flexibility. At 3500 lumens, the DP6870 is 30 percent brighter than the DP6860 with a higher 500:1 contrast ratio. The upgrade also includes both horizontal and vertical keystone correction, allowing users to create a perfectly square image even when not directly lined up with the screen.
The flexibility of the DP6870 also includes its multiple connectivity options. With HDTV signal support and a DVI digital connection, it supports all major input standards with two computer, two audio and three video inputs. Motorized zoom and focus also allow users to adjust image size regardless of where the projector is placed, and optional short- and long-throw lenses provide additional installation options.
"The DP6870 is the projector that offers AV professionals a high-end installation option at an affordable price," said Pierre Richer, vice president of Marketing for the Americas at InFocus. "As an upgrade to this segment's top-selling projector, the DP6870 provides users with improved features and greater flexibility, while enhancing the Proxima product portfolio."
In addition to the DP6870's enhanced flexibility and connectivity features, the projector is compatible with InFocus' ProjectorNet(TM). ProjectorNet management software provides IT professionals with the ability to monitor and control projectors across a network, reducing total cost of ownership and decreasing the amount of time IT personnel spend on projector maintenance and upkeep. The DP6870 also features compatibility with Proxima ProjectionLink(TM), the industry's first, single-wire, CAT-5 cabling solution. ProjectionLink connects and switches multiple computer and video sources to an installed Proxima-brand projector.
Warranties and Availability
The Proxima DP6870 will be available in mid-November with an estimated street price of US $5,099. The DP6870 comes with a two-year standard product warranty and one year of ProXchange service.
