CTX International Launches New Entry-Level, Portable Multimedia Projector

Press Release  |  Nov 18, 2002

UltraVision PS5140's Price Point, Brightness, Lamp Life and 6-lbs Weight Designed for Value-Conscious Buyers Looking for Ideal Starter Projector

LAS VEGAS, Nov. 18 /PRNewswire/ -- CTX International Inc., a leading manufacturer of high-performance displays and multimedia projectors, today announced the latest addition to its line of UltraVision projectors. The new PS5140 offers a combination of desirable features at a very competitive price and is designed as an ideal entry-level projector for a wide array of education, government, church/worship and business applications.

The portable UltraVision PS5140 weighs in at six (6) pounds, making it easy to transport for the presenter on the go. The projector delivers 1,400 lumens of brightness, 800 (H) x 600 (V) resolution, and digital keystone correction for a price point under $1,600. Besides the technical specifications, the product's push-button panel and intuitive menu structure make the PS5140 quick and easy to set up.

"For the most part, the three criteria that people judge projectors on are brightness in lumens, weight and price," said Amanda Stringfellow, marketing manager of projectors and new products at CTX. "We took great care in our design and manufacturing to produce a projector that had the best, most balanced blend of these three criteria at an entry-level price. This way, CTX projectors address our customers' most important needs and offer the highest value."

As a portable projector, the PS5140 was designed with a durable casing to withstand the hard knocks of road travel as well as a scratch resistant lens for clearer image quality. According to Stringfellow, the product's standard 4:3 (16:9) aspect ratio and 400:1 contrast ratio suit virtually every type of application. "Unless you are presenting in a large auditorium to hundreds of people, the PS5140's aspect and contrast ratios are more than adequate," stated Stringfellow.

"Our customers want the most value for their dollar, and offering a very competitive feature set at an affordable price is the key," said Stringfellow. "Whether at home or at work, in the classroom or the boardroom, the PS5140 provides an entry-level solution that fits virtually any environment."

Pricing and Availability
The PS5140 will be available in January 2003 through authorized CTX distributors and A/V resellers, with an estimated street price of $1,559. The product is backed by a two-year limited warranty on parts and labor as well as a 90-day warranty on the lamp. CTX provides toll-free customer support, 24 hours a day, seven days a week, at (800) 266-1491.
