EPSON PowerLite(R) 52c, EPSON PowerLite 53c and EPSON PowerLite 73c Offer Brilliant Image Quality and Versatility in Sleek New Designs

LONG BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Dec. 9, 2002--Epson is introducing three new 6.4-pound portable multimedia projectors with new sleek designs and high-value performance for as low as $1,299. The new EPSON PowerLite 52c, EPSON PowerLite 53c and EPSON PowerLite 73c are designed to give today's on-the-go business presenters and educators a higher level of image quality and versatility while remaining attractive to constrictive budgets.

"All three of these projectors represent outstanding values for any mobile presenter," said Aaron Marinari, product manager, Epson America. "Once again, we're using a winning combination of higher performance, lower prices, attractive new designs, and an advanced array of features to reinforce our position as the overall leader in value and reliability."

The EPSON PowerLite 52c -- Priced to Please for Quality Presentations
The EPSON PowerLite 52c is designed to deliver quality presentations at one of the most attractive price levels on the market. The projector sells for $1,299 (estimated street price, following a $200 mail-in rebate), offers 1,200 ANSI lumens for performance in both dark and well-lit rooms, SVGA (800 x 600) native resolution for vivid detail and a 400:1 contrast ratio for blacker blacks and whiter whites. The projector also features three new 0.5-inch high-aperture LCDs for rich color saturation across the screen, monitor out capability that allows presenters to use their computer monitor as a prompt, and a unique space-saving portable design.

EPSON PowerLite 53c and 73c -- Rich Features and Brilliant Value
Engineered to deliver both power and flexibility, the PowerLite 53c is priced at $1,699 (estimated street price), incorporates a new/sleeker exterior and is rated at 1,700 ANSI lumens with a 500:1 contrast ratio. This projector also uses three 0.7-inch, high-aperture LCDs for sharper images, also offers monitor out, features Epson's exclusive auto-keystone correction for quick and easy setup and has several other user-friendly features that don't require any costly expansion modules.

The EPSON PowerLite 73c offers 1,500 ANSI lumens of brightness and all other features found in the PowerLite 53c including its sleek exterior, but raises the bar on performance by offering XGA (1,024 x 768) native resolution for even sharper image quality. The PowerLite 73c has an estimated street price of $2,499.

About Epson Projectors
The heart of these projectors' advanced imaging technology lies in Seiko Epson's own three-LCD projection system. These three 0.5-inch and 0.7-inch Seiko Epson LCDs are engineered and synchronized to achieve high levels of image quality, such as brightness distribution (illumination ratio), color saturation, color accuracy and efficiency. They create accurate shades of red, green and blue that blend to produce a projected image with brighter, richer, truer colors and sharp black text.

Each model also comes fully equipped with several advanced features such as picture-in-picture technology, 15-degree digital keystone correction (manual on the PowerLite 52c), optical zoom (electronic zoom on the PowerLite 53c), multi-function remote control, on-screen help features, and many others.

The EPSON PowerLite 52c, PowerLite 53c and PowerLite 73c will be available through authorized pro audio/visual, national distribution, catalog and direct PC dealers and select PC retailers throughout the country beginning in late-December 2002.

Quality Assurance & Support
All three of these projectors meet the same stringent quality control measures that Epson uses for the rest of its projector line, so customers can be confident that these products will stand up to the most rigorous travel schedules. A recent study found that "experienced professionals who service and sell multimedia projectors choose Epson 5:1 as the most reliable."

These Epson PowerLite projectors come with a two-year limited warranty that includes three elite technical support services: Epson's Private Line(SM), Road Service Program and International Warranty. Through the Private Line, projector owners can directly access a dedicated support telephone line (typically in less than one minute) by using a phone card that is included with the product. In the event that a projector should need to be repaired, Epson's Road Service Program can usually replace the product within 24 hours in the United States and Canada. International Warranty makes repair service available in 45 countries worldwide. These services are available for the duration of the warranty coverage.

Presenters can also find valuable information by visiting Epson's Presenters Online(SM) Web site (www.presentersonline.com) for immediate access to presentation tips, tools and techniques, innovative templates, useful clip art, and links to services especially suited for today's busy road warrior.
