Optoma Announces Availability of EzPro 737 Multi-Use Digital Projector Ideal for on the Road or in the HomeUltralight DLP Projector Delivers the Highest Brightness of Any HDTV-Compatible Projector Weighing 3.5 Pounds or Less
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Jan. 8, 2003-- Optoma Technology, Inc., a leading developer of projection and digital display products, today announced the availability of its new powerful EzPro 737(TM) digital projector. The Optoma EzPro 737 is the first to deliver 1500 ANSI lumens, 1800:1 contrast ratio, and full HDTV video display capability in a compact, ultralight 3.5-pound unit. The EzPro 737 is also the quietest microportable projector with an audible noise level of only 32 dB. This combination of high brightness, outstanding contrast, extensive input support, and portability makes the EzPro 737 ideal for multi-use: on the road, in the boardroom, or in the home. Priced at $2,995 (MSRP), the EzPro 737 is available through pro AV dealers and as well as internet resellers.
"Our EzPro 730-series projectors have been recognized as some of the best performing mini-projectors on the market," said Otto Kong, CEO of Optoma. "The new EzPro 737 continues this tradition of excellence with outstanding image quality and superior engineering."
The EzPro 737 delivers outstanding brightness, contrast and color accuracy along with unequalled video reproduction. The projector is based on Texas Instruments' 0.7" Double Data Rate (DDR) Digital Light Processing(TM) (DLP(TM)) chip that consists of more than three quarters of a million microscopic mirrors, each of which is able to tilt back and forth at rapid speeds of up to 5,000 times per second.
The EzPro 737 displays 16.7 million colors and features native XGA (1024x768) resolution compressible to SXGA (1280x1024) and supports 4:3 (native) and 16:9 (compatible) aspect ratios.
The EzPro 737 is housed in a sturdy magnesium alloy case for enhanced durability, outstanding heat dissipation, and quiet operation. The 2.0" x 6.8" x 8.9" unit can be used on a tabletop, mounted to a ceiling (with optional kit) or placed to project from behind a screen.
On the Road, or In the Home
The EzPro 737 offers an on-screen multilingual menu that facilitates easy set-up and connectivity with personal computers (PC and Mac compatible) as well as most video media sources (NTSC/PAL/SECAM compatible). Also, the EzPro 737 is HDTV-capable and can accept 1080i, 720p, 576i, 576p, 480i and 480p DTV images. In addition, the EzPro 737 features an extra short-throw lens and can display images between 28.0" and 295.3" (diagonal measurement) placed 3.7 feet and 39.4 feet from the screen, respectively.
This versatility makes the EzPro 737 an excellent choice for multi-use on the road or in the home. The road warrior will appreciate the EzPro 737 for its light and compact design, high brightness, durable casing, and digital vertical and horizontal keystone correction (up to 16 degrees) to compensate for image distortion when the projector is used at an angle to the screen. The video enthusiast will benefit from the 737's quiet operation (only 32 dB) and throw ratio for displaying HDTV or DVDs with an over 24-foot diagonal viewing area. And all users will enjoy surfing the web or playing the latest high-tech games projected life-size onto conference room or living room walls.
Input and output connectors include 35-pin VESA M1 (RGB / digital / component / HDTV) RCA jack (composite video), mini DIN (S-video), 15 pin D-sub (monitor loop through), 3.5 mm phono jack, RS-232 communication, and AC power input.
Other features of the EzPro 737 include a full-function wireless remote with integrated laserpointer, dual infrared receivers, integrated 2-watt speaker, and digital zoom. It also includes a 150-watt user-replaceable lamp, which is expected to last 2,000 hours for low cost of ownership. For a full list of specifications, visit www.optoma.com/public/ezpro_737.asp.
