Hitachi Meets Market Demands with New Full-Featured Projector Doubling the Average Lamp Life;
Hitachi CP-X870W Provides Up to 4,000 Hours of Lamp Life in a Single Bulb
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 7, 2003--Hitachi America, Ltd., a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan (NYSE:HIT), today announced the availability of the CP-X870W, the newest addition to its conference room and fixed installation projector product line. The CP-X870W is designed for long-hour operations and offers a lamp life of up to 4,000 hours, whereas a typical projector provides only 2,000. Additionally, its overall component lifetime is roughly double that of conventional projectors, offering a substantially lower total cost of ownership (TCO). Featuring native XGA resolution, the 13-pound CP-X870W also provides 2,000 ANSI lumens and a contrast ratio of 400:1, enabling the projector to produce vivid and crisp images, even in large, light-filled conference rooms and classrooms.
"One of the most important considerations customers look for when purchasing a multimedia projector is the length of lamp life. In order to reduce replacement costs for lamps, it's important to invest in a projector that uses power wisely," said Pete Denes, director of sales for Hitachi America, Ltd., Digital Media Division. "This is precisely why we are proud to introduce the CP-X870W to the market, and to be able to offer our customers with a low-maintenance, full-featured projector option."
Wireless and Network Connectivity
With the use of an optional module (WNM80 $1,499) that plugs into the DVI port, the CP-X870W can also become network and wireless compatible, making it ideal for conference or board rooms, as well as college or university settings. These network capabilities provide the user with the ability to monitor and control multiple projectors - the system can support up to 255 I/P addresses from a remote location. From this remote location, the user can turn the projectors on and off, and monitor projector's operating status including the lamp life, temperature and active input port.
The wireless option also allows multiple users (up to four laptops) to communicate with a single projector. Further enhancing the presentation capabilities, the user is able to send up to 8MB of data to the projector through the network prior to the actual presentation. Through the use of the projector's play back feature, the user can then access the presentation without any transmission delay.
Additional Features
The CP-X870W offers additional features such as a wireless remote control and the "One Touch" feature, which allows the presenter to auto-keystone (vertical), auto-search and auto-adjust at the touch of a button. The projector also comes standard with a user programmable start-up screen and picture-in-picture capabilities.
The CP-X870W is priced at $8995 and is now available through Hitachi's network of nationwide resellers. For more information, or to locate a dealer near you, please visit www.hitachi.com/digitalmedia or call 1-800-225-1741.
