New Proxima Wireless Meeting Room Projector
Wireless Capabilities, Networking and Optional Lenses Provide Easiest Solution
WILSONVILLE, Ore.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 28, 2003--InFocus(R) Corporation (Nasdaq:INFS) (OSE:IFC), the worldwide leader in digital projection technology and services, announced today a new meeting room projector that supports InFocus' most recent advances in wireless technology, and includes networking software and optional lenses to accommodate any room size. The DP8200x is the first in a strategic rollout of an entire family of installation and integration projectors that will be introduced and available throughout the summer.
The Proxima DP8200x supports InFocus LiteShow(R), the secure wireless digital projector solution announced earlier this month. With LiteShow, users can securely project their ideas from anywhere in the room -- simplifying room configuration while providing additional value.
At 13 pounds and featuring 3,000 lumens, the DP8200x exudes flexibility in the form of three bayonet user-replaceable lenses, which makes installation easier and faster.
"The Proxima DP8200x provides our customers and our partners with an installation projection system to fit the needs of all meeting rooms," said John V. Harker, Chairman, President and CEO of InFocus Corporation. "The DP8200x offers a projection solution that supports our wireless solution, which makes it is easy to set up, use and manage."
The DP8200x includes onboard networking technology, making it ProjectorNet-ready out of the box. ProjectorNet is InFocus' client/server-based networking solution designed to allow IT and facilities personnel to manage multiple projectors from a single PC. ProjectorNet gives corporations, universities and other organizations the power to manage and improve their projector ROI just as they would other shared computing and communication assets such as PCs and printers by minimizing theft, maximizing usage time and improving proactive maintenance. ProjectorNet is ideally suited for sites with multiple installed projectors distributed across various rooms, floors or buildings -- sites such as corporate office parks, government facilities and universities.
Later this summer, InFocus will introduce the DP8400x, which is a powerful 15-pound projector that features power zoom, focus and lens shift. The DP8400x will also be compatible with InFocus LiteShow, enabling a wireless installation solution.
