Optoma’s EzPro 731 Data Projector Changes the Perception of DLP™ Affordability
Latest Multi-Use Projector Offers Highly-Portable DLP™ Technology for under$1600
Milpitas, Calif. and Orlando, Fla. (June 02, 2003)-Dispelling the myth that a high quality, ultra-portable data projector travels with a high price tag, Optoma Technology, Inc. will introduce its first ultra-portable data projector to be priced under $1600. Beginning tomorrow, budget-friendly EzPro 731™ data projector, which features the latest in Digital Light Processing™ technology by Texas Instruments, will be one of Optoma's featured Pro AV attractions at InfoComm 2003 in Orlando, Fla. Optoma is an award-winning developer of projection and digital display products for business and home.
Ideal for businesses and educational institutions that demand high image quality and high portability, even while adhering to a budget, the EzPro 731 employs a 0.55-inch 800 x 600 pixel Double Data Rate Digital Micromirror Device for true SVGA resolution (SXGA compressed), a native 4:3 aspect ratio, and 16:9 support for anamorphic DVD and HDTV viewing. The projector, which weighs-in at only 4.5-pounds, has 1100 powerful lumens of light and provides a 1500:1 full-on/full-off contrast ratio for vivid images and remarkable color reproduction. It comes with the advanced scaling technology of a Pixelworks 166 scaler to ensure virtually flawless images for both graphics and video, and includes advanced digital zoom for easier image control.
"All too often, people have missed out on the advantages of a quality DLP™ data projector because of the perception that high-quality must mean high-price," explained AJ Abrams, general manager of Optoma. "The EzPro 731 makes the quality and reliability of DLP™ technology available to everyone at a price suited to please even the strictest of budgets."
Ideal for anytime/anywhere presentations, the EzPro 731 has a compact wireless remote control that includes such button commands as freeze, hide, and optimum. It also has a user-friendly on-screen menu that displays in nine languages. With its auto signal detection and auto synchronization functions, it quickly-and automatically-adapts to virtually any inputted material, and is compatible with 480i/p, 720p, and 1080i signals. Additionally-for worldwide operation-the projector is NTSC, PAL, and SECAM compatible. It is also emits very little sound at 32 dB, and comes equipped with a compact, long-lasting 120-watt 2000-hour lamp.
Breaking new ground as Optoma's ultra-portable, low-cost DLP™ offering, the EzPro 731 provides exceptional features typically found on projectors costing much more. Adding even more value is the proven reliability of DLP™ technology combined with Optoma's three-year warranty, thus guaranteeing years of worry-free, just-out-of-the-box operation. Competitive products typically offer warranties of only one-year. The EzPro 731 has a lightweight MSRP of just $1599 and proves that high-performance, ultra-portable projectors don't always travel with a high price tag in tow.
Optoma Technology is exhibiting its award-winning line of digital display products and high definition televisions at InfoComm 2003 in Booth #2563 from June 3 through June 6. The EzPro 731 will be demonstrated in a digital projector shoot-out along with Optoma's new 2.1-pound EzPro 725Ô. A luxurious 287-square foot home theater will feature Optoma's new widescreen home theater projector, the H76™, and a smaller theater will showcase additional critically acclaimed Optoma products.
