Optoma’s New 2.1-Pound XGA Data Projector Proves That Size Doesn’t Matter
Optoma’s Powerful EzPro 725 Rivals the Performance of Micro-portable Data Projectors Twice its Size
Milpitas, Calif. and Orlando, Fla. (June 02, 2003)-Demonstrating that when it comes to high-performance, size doesn't matter, Optoma Technology, Inc. will launch its new 2.1-pound micro-portable data projector at InfoComm 2003 in Orlando, Fla. Starting tomorrow, the Optoma EzPro 725™ data projector, which employs the latest Digital Light Processing™ technology from Texas Instruments, will be a featured attraction for Pro AV attendees at the Optoma exhibit in booth #2563. Optoma is an award-winning developer of projection and digital display products for business and home.
Designed for use in the office, board room, auditoriums, schools and even the home, the ultra-lightweight EzPro 725 uses a 0.7-inch 12-degree Double Data Rate Digital Micromirror Device chip for true XGA (1024 x768) resolution (SXGA compressed) and a native 4:3 aspect ratio with support for both 5:4 and 16:9 formats (anamorphic DVD and HDTV). The projector has 1100 lumens and provides a 2000:1 full on/full off contrast ratio for clear, crisp images and incredible color reproduction. It also offers the advanced scaling technology of a Pixelworks 166 scaler to deliver virtually flawless graphics and video. Similarly featured products can weigh twice as much as the EzPro 725.
"For a long time, people were forced to choose between projectors that were full featured and inconvenient to transport, and smaller projectors with scant features," explained AJ Abrams, general manager of Optoma. "The EzPro 725 eliminates the need to choose between the two. At just over two-pounds, it's the smallest, most compact DLP™ projector in Optoma's line, yet it offers the premium features available on projectors many times its size."
Ideal for on-the-fly presentations, the projector's numerous functions are conveniently controlled by a compact credit card sized remote control unit, making it incredibly easy to manage presentations from anywhere in a given space. The projector provides an intuitive onscreen menu, which can be displayed in nine-different languages, and includes premium remote commands such as hide, freeze, and picture-in-picture. It also offers digital keystone correction to ensure the best image placement possible-regardless of a room's size or the projector's location.
For additional functionality-both in and outside of the conference room-the EzPro 725 provides auto signal detection and auto synchronization, and is fully compatible with 480i/p, 720p, and 1080i signals. For worldwide operation-the projector is NTSC, PAL, and SECAM compatible. It emits very little sound at 34dB and requires virtually no maintenance with a compact 120-watt 2000-hour lamp.
Following in the footsteps of Optoma's ultra-lightweight EzPro 737™, the EzPro 725 is designed to be exceptionally portable at a mere 2.1 pounds, while offering the power and premium features of projectors many times its size. Moreover, the combination of advanced DLP™ technology combined with Optoma's three-year warranty guarantees years of worry-free, just-out-of-the-box operation. Competitive products typically offer warranties of only one-year. The EzPro 725 has a lightweight MSRP of just $2599 and proves that when it comes to high-performance in a projector, size doesn't always matter. Optoma Technology is exhibiting its award-winning line of digital projectors and high definition televisions at InfoComm 2003 in Booth #2563 from June 3 through June 6, 2003. The exhibit features two enclosed theaters, including a luxurious 287 square foot home theater. Optoma will also introduce its new widescreen home theater projector, the H76™, and the budget-friendly EzPro 731™.
