Press Release  |  Jun 3, 2003

New Hitachi CP-S210W to be Showcased with Hitachi's Full Line of Leading Presentation Technologies -- Projectors, Plasma Displays, AirSho and More

ORLANDO, Fla.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 3, 2003-- Hitachi America, Ltd., www.hitachi.com, a subsidiary of Hitachi, Ltd., Tokyo, Japan (NYSE: HIT), will showcase its new six-pound multimedia projector, the CP-S210W, and its comprehensive line of presentation technologies at InfoComm 2003, booth #1321, at the Orange County Convention Center in Orlando, FL, June 3-5, 2003. Furthering its commitment to providing the industry with the most advanced presentation products designed with customer needs in mind, Hitachi continues to expand its product portfolio to meet a range of application needs.

The entry-level CP-S210W combines exceptional brightness and SVGA resolution in an extremely lightweight, six-pound package. With 1,200 ANSI lumens and a 300:1 contrast ratio, the CP-S210W offers outstanding image quality and a full array of features. The projector is equipped with the Whisper Mode feature to reduce the noise level of the projector to 32 decibels with a minimal reduction in brightness and vertical keystone correction, which enables the user to work around various seating arrangements without obstructing the image. Increased flexibility and versatility are due to the projectors' full range of connectivity options, which include one RGB and three video inputs (S-video, RCA, component).

"Hitachi recognizes the changing demands of today's multimedia market and is continually evolving its product line to address the varying needs of businesses, education, government and new adopter markets, such as home theater," said Pete Denes, director of sales, Hitachi America Ltd., Digital Media Division. "Our newest entry-level projector, the CP-S210W, is not only a great value, but is characteristically Hitachi by being extremely feature-rich. We are pleased to introduce it to the market at InfoComm 2003."

Innovative Multimedia Projectors
At the core of Hitachi's InfoComm exhibit is its full range of leading multimedia projectors. In addition to showcasing the CP-S210W, Hitachi will demonstrate its CP-X870W projector, which offers a lamp life of up to 4,000 hours. This product will also be displayed with the Hitachi Smoke Filter, a protective box designed to significantly extend the life of the projector by protecting it from harmful smoke fumes. Hitachi will also demonstrate its CP-X885W which offers network and wireless capabilities through the use of a separate optional module (WNM80), the CP-X995W, Hitachi's brightest projector to date with an impressive 4,500 lumens, and the feature-rich CP-X430W.

Cutting-Edge AirSho(TM) Display Technology
The AirSho system, a hybrid of technologies designed to create a cost- and space-efficient solution with tremendous visual impact, will also be demonstrated at the Hitachi InfoComm booth. The system consists of a high lumen Hitachi LCD projector, the CP-X430W, and a photopolymer resin film that can be adhered to virtually any transparent surface. The result is a vivid, holographic display that can be easily updated to highlight new promotions or information. The AirSho system is currently available in both 40- and 60-inch screen sizes.
