Press Release  |  Jun 7, 1999

Polaview 240 delivers brightness and detailed resolution for optimum presentation quality

CAMBRIDGE, Mass., -- June 7, 1999 – Polaroid Corporation (NYSE: PRD) today introduced one of the brightest portable SVGA projectors available – the Polaview 240. Delivering 1500 ANSI lumens and true SVGA resolution of 800 x 600, the Polaview 240 provides sharp, accurate visuals for optimum performance in almost any presentation environment.

Weighing just 13.6 pounds, the Polaview 240 is portable and provides professionals with a high-quality, mobile presentation tool. Designed to produce bright, vivid images, the Polaview 240 is ideal for multimedia presentations that include advanced graphics and video. The system’s adaptive digital gamma correction (ADGC) works with the Polaview 240’s LCD panels to adjust the color signal, resulting in more vibrant colors and natural skin tones.

"The Polaview 240 offers the advanced projection technology that is needed to support today’s graphically enhanced multimedia presentations with the flexibility of a portable projector," said Bill Orlansky, senior marketing manager, Polaroid Digital Imaging Group. "With the expansion of its multimedia presentation line, Polaroid will continue its commitment to providing technologies that meet the ever-changing market demands."

The new Polaroid projector features a built-in PCMCIA-ATA Type II card capability for computer-free presentations and a 1.5-watt speaker for incorporating sound into a presentation. Additionally, the Polaview 240 is equipped with an 18-function, backlit wireless remote with laser pointer, allowing a user to operate the projector and mouse easily in a variety of presentation environments. The projector also provides plug-and-play simplicity and automatic set up for both PC and Macintosh operating systems.

Designed to meet a variety of projection needs, the Polaview 240 is ideal for sales presentations, training sessions, visual analysis and interpretation, reference and detail. With a projection distance that ranges from 2.8 to 44.3 feet, Polaview 240 also provides optimum performance in both large and small rooms. Beyond traditional business presentation capabilities, Polaview 240 is an essential tool for an array of applications in education, government, medical and scientific markets.
