Epson's New PowerLite Cinema 200+ Home Theater Projector
Offers Increased Brightness and ``True HD Resolution'' at an Exceptional Value
LONG BEACH, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Sept. 9, 2004--Epson America Inc. today introduced the Epson PowerLite(R) Cinema 200+, an advanced version of its PowerLite Cinema 200 LCD home theater projector released earlier this year. The enhanced HDTV-ready projector has increased brightness for a more brilliant image and capability to compete with soft ambient light in casual viewing environments. As the mid-level solution of Epson's home entertainment projector line, the PowerLite Cinema 200+ is the ideal balance between high performance and value.
Built on Epson's latest generation of high definition 3LCD digital image technology, the PowerLite Cinema 200+ delivers native 720p resolution and 16:9 aspect ratio to produce superior image quality and color intensity. It includes the same smart features as the original Cinema 200, but Epson has increased the projector's brightness from 1,300 ANSI lumens to 1,500 ANSI lumens by improving the optics while maintaining the 1,000:1 contrast ratio for a stunning picture. With the addition of Epson's Black/White Enhancer software, the projector's black and white levels automatically adjust in the preset "living room" color mode improving the shadow detail in dark or bright scenes.
Designed not only for professional installation, Epson's new PowerLite Cinema 200+ allows for flexibility in use -- whether in a dedicated home theater room or for use in a multipurpose viewing room. The Cinema 200+ features a wide range vertical and horizontal lens shift and a 1.5x power zoom lens that attains a high degree of positioning freedom in the home projector class. And like the flagship Cinema 500, the focus adjustment of the Cinema 200+ allows users to correct the focus while viewing their program, no longer leading them to a separate pattern screen.
Shipping in early October, the Epson PowerLite Cinema 200+ will be available for $2,999 through CEDIA dealers and specialty audio-video retailers nationwide. Customers can obtain further availability information by calling the Epson Connection at 800-463-7766 or online at www.epson.com. The PowerLite Cinema 200+ comes with a two-year limited warranty that includes two elite toll-free technical support services -- Epson's Private Line(SM) and Home Service Exchange Program -- maintaining Epson's commitment to first-rate service and support.
