Optoma ZU860 product 1

Optoma has announced the release of the ProScene ZU860 DLP laser projector, a high-brightness model designed for use in conference spaces, houses of worship, and museum installations.

Available now through authorized dealers with a street price of $11,999, the ZU860 has a rated brightness of 8,500 ANSI lumens—plenty of light output for large, well-lit spaces. It uses a 0.67-inch, DLP single-chip design to deliver WUXGA native resolution (1920x1200), and it's the first WUXGA projector from Optoma with interchangeable lenses (available separately) that is compatible with 4K HDR sources for a maximum resolution of 4096x2160 at 30Hz. The additional lenses allow a throw ratio range of 0.36:1 to 5.5:1 to support a variety of installation options. Further flexibility is aided by motorized lens shift, zoom and focus, with the ability to support 360-degree and portrait display modes. Other features include integrated image warping and blending, support for 3D, lens position memory, and four-point keystone adjustment.

Inside, the ZU860 uses Optoma's DuraCore laser technology. The laser light source has an independently certified IP5X optical engine with up to 30,000 hours of life in Eco mode (minimum of 20,000 hours in full brightness mode). The IP5X rating means the projector is protected from dust so it will not interfere with the operation of the optical engine, which is completely protected from external contact. Since the ZU860 uses a laser light source, there is no need for light source maintenance or replacement.

Connections include HDMI 2.0, DVI-D, 3G-SDI, and HDBaseT for long cable runs. LAN and RS-232 enable automation control with Crestron, Extron, AMX, or Telnet.

  • WUXGA (1920 x 1200) native resolution with a maximum resolution of 4K UHD (4096 x 2160)
