Personal Experience
In my line of work, I get to play with many different types of projectors. I'm a big fan of Optoma and I had an opportunity to buy this dirt cheap. This is a great budget projector for movie night. Generally, I hook my DVD player to it via S-Video and use my in wall Tannoys for audio. I like the idea portability and I've used the built in DVD and speakers a couple times to "baby sit" the kids when I had to take them with me to work on the weekends. The speakers are sub par but I wasn't expecting to use them very much.

This projector also works well for a small meeting or a classroom settings.

The DV11 is the replacement for this model and to my knowledge not much has changed except an increase in lumens. There's also a decrease in contrast ratio but 2200:1 is still decent.

The replacement bulb is more expensive than other Optoma bulbs. However I've tried a replacement bulb from the Optoma EZ739 and it fit and works perfectly for less money. The specs are identical. The only thing different is one letter on the part number.

Also I wish it had screw taps for the ability to mount it on the ceiling for a semi permanent installation.
