I am in a K-12 School district with 6 schools, part of my responsibilities are to support our 130+ data projectors, 65 of which are the Epson PowerLite 83+. Used Mostly with SmartBoards the 83+ has been an excellent choice for us, very robust construction and ease of use, very few flake out or have weird issues. The “instant off” feature is nice as we don’t have to educate teachers about unplugging them prematurely. The Network feature (EMP monitor) earns Epson an A+, very easy to keep an eye on all of your projectors at a glance. I have a short list of complaints, but overall this is an excellent value from a solid company.
Customer Service lacks knowledge – but is committed to their warranties. 10w speaker is too soft and not suitable for standard classrooms. Sometimes the remote will break (Epson replaces for free)
