My projector is a May 2006 model and I've owned it for almost 5 years. It was a wonderful upgrade to the Infocus X1. My original bulb just now burnt out, (one week before super bowl party!) 2401hrs on the High/Bright setting with Iris. I'm thoroughly impressed with the picture, and I'm just going to buy a new bulb rather than buy a new 1080p. Blu-Ray looks great. I move a lot, so I need the 2x zoom and picture shift features. I won't buy another projector unless the Epson 8350 featured and equivelents drop below $900 in a year or two. I'm in no rush.
I built my 107inch screen using the gray wilsonart laminate and velveteen wrapped border trim. I love this screen and it will go everywhere with me until I finally settle down. Yes, this projector can go larger, but this screen size is perfect for a living room.
I'm about to unplug the Iris when I swap out the lamp. It really does bother me now. My wife doesn't notice. I've never had a single problem with it. Just make sure to vacuum the filter when you clean your furnace filters (as a memory jogger). Ha!
Other than that, I really wish it was 2000 lumens like the AX200 so I can watch sports easier in the daytime.
