i just wanted to say that this projector is an excellent value. despite the $3500 msrp posted on this site, you can find this projector for about $1750 after tax and shipping.
-ive put 45 hrs on the bulb and (crosses fingers) no problems yet. i actually bought this particular projector because it had the least bulb complaints in this price range. nec is of course great for projectors.
-i dont see rainbows. but maybe im lucky.
-i use this for regular cable signal, hdtv, a dvd player, and a computer .. and it works well with all.
-it is super bright. im using this on a grainy off-white wall and i have no problems at all. even in the presence of some ambient light.
i would definitely recommend this projector based on my own personal experience with it.
My only complaint:
-3d reform works but digital artifacts are slightly noticable (e.g., straight lines look jagged).. also, the unshaped trapazoid of dim light is still very visible even when the image is squared inside of it. for my use, i cant point the projector orthogonally at the wall, so i must use 3d reform - and it's pretty good, but could use some improvement (to be fair, this is my first projector, so i dont know how it compares to other projectors' keystone correction)
