For less than 1000$ this is a great solution. It is bright enough for home use. It is easy to setup. In DVD mode the pictures are as crisp as you can expect from this resoultion. For a "very" inexpensive home setup it is nice.
The colors are "very" crisp. And you do not need to mount it very far back. to get a 10' picture. It is definitely better than buying a TV in the same price range. In fact it is better than any TV in the 3x price point.
Overpowers ambient light well.
But... I am returning it as... I want a little better quality.
Fairly quite.... If you want a TV for less than 1500 I would recommend this. It is a much better deal than most 50" screen TVs.
1. The screen door effect is pronounced.
2. The contract makes it hard to differentate dark colors
3. The red is a little over powering
4. TV signals come out very poorly (no edtv mode)
