Optoma HD8600 wins Editor's Choice

The premium-class Optoma HD8600 has been given the Editor's Choice Award for home theater models in the $5,000 to $10,000 price range.

We waited until we could shoot this model out directly with other models in this same price range, and it took a while to get them in here. But we can say with certainty and enthusiasm that the Optoma HD8600 does indeed edge the competition in pure image quality and other features, standing in a class by itself at a retail price of $8,000. For those who are budgeting this amount of money for a high performance 1080p model, the HD8600 is highly recommended. (see review).

We just posted a review of the Optoma EH1020, their new business class 1080p model. This is a fine performer for its intended purpose, but the two models are designed for entirely different applications despite their common 1080p resolution.

Several more business and pico projector reviews will be posted next week. The next home theater review will be the Sony VPL-VW85.
