Upcoming Home Theater Reviews

We are putting the finishing touches on the Optoma HD8300 review, and it will be posted Wednesday...

We are still awaiting final arrival dates on the latest home theater models from Epson, Mitsubishi, and Panasonic. We expect to review units from each of these vendors in October, but since we don't have precise arrival dates, we can't predict a review schedule. All we know at this point is that October will be a busy month!

As our review schedule gets more clarity, we will let you know here.

Hi Evan, can't wait for these reviews. I'm holding off on the new PJ until I hear from you guys! I am specifically interested to see whether the Epson 3010 beats out the 8350 for 2D perfomance. If it does, then 3D is sweet icing on the cake! Love the reviews! Keep up the good work!

Likewise Evan. I am chomping at the bit to pull the trigger on my first projector and am interested in how the new Epson 5010 will compare to the outgoing 8700UB. I am not interested in 3D, so the 2D picture quality and related bells and whistles is paramount for me.

I got the Epson 8500UB at the pre-order stage. I just burned out and replaced the last bulb about a week ago. Waiting on the reviews to decide if I should saving up for another bulb replacement or a new projector. Primary interests are in Higher lumen performance, image sharpening/enhancements, 3D and placement flexibility (need even more since I moved to new house). And when will we be able to get a bright (1600+ lumen) LED Home theater PJ without having to sell both kidneys to afford it?

I'm waiting for your reviews of the 4k Sony VPL-VW1000ES, RED's 4k laser projector, and JVC's faux-4k e-Shift projectors. All out of my price range, but should be interesting nonetheless. Maybe throw in a review of Digital Projection's native 2.35 dVison Scope as well. It's a great time to be a projection fan!
