Acer announces new short-throw 1080p projector
This morning Acer announced the H6517ST, a 3000-lumen short throw projector with native 1080p resolution...
Designed for home cinema use, the H6517ST sports full 3D capability and wireless connection, and is priced at $799.99 (MSRP). We anticipate receiving this unit next week, and if it arrives on time the review will be up the first or second week of May.
We had an unexpected internal problem that caused a delay of the Optoma HD50 review, but it is back on track and we expect to have that one up next week. The delay had nothing to do with the review sample, so there is no problem in that regard.
Also, the Epson Home Cinema 600 review is getting close to a wrap. This is the little SVGA resolution model that is selling for $379, so those on a limited projector budget will want to check this one out.
We also just received the new Casio XJ-V1, a classroom and boardroom projector with a 20,000 hour laser/LED hybrid light engine that puts out 2700 lumens in XGA resolution. That review will commence on Monday, and should be up the following week.
