BenQ to release new HT models
BenQ will be announcing three new home theater models next month, and we've got some preliminary information on those releases...
The trio of new models includes the HT4050, the HT3050, and the HT2050. These are all DLP-based, 1920x1080 projectors, and some of the specs and prices are as follows;
HT4050: 2000 lumens, 1.6x zoom, H+V lens shift, 10-watt Hifi speaker, 3D, 2D to 3D conversion, dual HDMI (one with MHL), Rec 709 Cinematic color ($1,399)
HT3050: 1800 lumens, 1.3x zoom, vertical lens shift, 20-watt stereo sound, dual HDMI (one with MHL), Rec 709 Cinematic color ($999)
HT2050: 2000 lumens, 1.3x zoom, vertical lens shift, 10-watt Hifi speaker, dual HDMI ($799)
Many of the specs are not yet published. We have no contrast ratings, and though we presume all models are 3D enabled, it was not specifically noted in the materials we received. The HT4050 is slated to commence shipment in October. It is not clear when the HT3050 and HT2050 will begin shipping, but review samples should be here in about two weeks.
We are anxious to see how these new models stack up against the surprisingly robust Epson 2040, which outperforms the BenQ HT1075 and HT1070 in several important respects including brightness, image clarity, detail definition, and image depth/three-dimensionality.
