Reviews and Road Tests
We just posted a review of the new BenQ MH530, a portable 1080p model great for home or classroom use...
The MH530 is a bright, sub-5 lb. portable that can go anywhere. Its 1080p resolution and 33 ms input lag makes it very attractive for home entertainment, and its portability, bright picture, variety of inputs, and low $599 price make it a good option for classroom and portable presentation. An all around multi-purpose projector. See the BenQ MH530 review.
You've begun to see a new review format on ProjectorCentral we are calling the Road Test. This is a streamlined and shortened review format that will be done for selected models that we think are of particular competitive interest to the marketplace. In general they will be done for commercial and multi-purpose projectors. We will continue to use the traditional review format for home theater projectors and other models that warrant the longer and more in depth treatment.
The models we select for Road Test evaluation are hand picked for their combination of features and price, so we do some advance shopping. We then call them in for a lab test to validate them as solid products for the niche they are targeted for. With this new editorial format we will be able to increase the amount of editorial coverage we give to commercial products. Four Road Tests have been posted so far, and you can see them on the home page under Latest Projector Reviews.
Meanwhile, we've got two more home theater models in review, the Sony HW45ES and the Optoma HD142x. We will also follow up to finalize the Epson 6040 review once we receive a production sample.
