I have had this projector since Christmas (2004) and have put approx. 200+ hours on the lamp. The overall quality of the image is good considering the price I paid for this unit ($750 USD brand new). The 'rainbow effect' is present, but only if you shake your head side-to-side really fast or there are white credits on a black background. That said, the more I watch movies and video games on it, the less I notice the effect. The brightness is relatively impressive, I run it on the power saver mode as the regular operation seems to be only slightly brighter and the fan kicks into high gear and becomes noisier. It doesn't look nearly as good when there is a great deal of light in the room, but even with light in the room it is easy to see for the most part. The built-in speaker is surprisingly good considering, but you should use any other kind of sound setup you can get your hands on. The inputs are good, if not somewhat underwhelming. There is no component video which is slightly disappointing, but those concerned with that will probably spend more money and get a higher-end projector anyway. I really enjoy having this unit. I don't think it is a $2,000+ dollar value unit like the MSRP listing says it is; depending on the price you find it for I would recommend it for those just first getting into home projection, or those on a budget (if you can find this at a great price). For those looking for something with more options and power, I would say look elsewhere.

Any Problems: None. Runs like a champ.
