Epson announces new Microportables

April 8, 2002

Today Epson announced the PowerLite 730c, a 2000 ANSI lumen, XGA resolution microportable projector in a 4.3 lb form factor, making it the brightest sub-5 lb. projector yet to hit the market. The 730c incorporates several new features including a 10-second cooldown time, auto keystone correction that engages instantly without manual intervention, and a credit-card size remote control with a storage slot on-board the projector. It is HDTV and 480p compatible and supports any computer resolution up to UXGA. The 730c has an Estimated Street Price of $3,999.

Also announced today is the 730c's slightly less powerful brother, the PowerLite 720c. This unit is identical to the 730c except that it has an ANSI lumen rating of 1500 instead of 2000, and an Estimated Street Price of $3,499. The 720c has all the features of the 730c except Micro Lens Array, which is responsible for the boost in brightness on the 730c.

Both units are scheduled to commence shipment next month.
