Write a ReviewProjector has been out of production for quite a while, So I assume anyone reading this has found a used one and wants to know if it could be used for home theater. Yes, it can, I've set up two for use with Windows Media Center. Color is good but not great - it was a great projector in it's day for business presentations but not quite up to par with today's home theater projectors. Very slight but noticeable color banding, generally only noticeable on fleshtones. It's passable for HT use, but only just barely. if one falls in your lap dirt cheap with lots of hours left on the bulb, go for it, but don't go out of your way to get an LP1000.
Any Problems: At $600 to $700 for 2,000 hours the bulb is rather expensive. Many other projectors have aftermarket equivalent bulbs available in the $150 - $200 range, but not the LP1000.
