Can't fault the damn thing. Have tried lots of projectors such as sanyo's XW20 and SW20, optoma h50, sony hs2, panasonic ae100, et al. Can't say any of them gets close. It really is a surprise package. Colour (once adjusted) is superb, you can actaully see decent black on black detail, little or no colour bleed even using s-video. The upshot is with most of the others there was always a niggling problem, like the pany with it's pretty bad chicken wire, or the optoma with it's rainbow effects. I got this home, plugged it in and was astounded by the quality out of the box - you know that feeling when everything goes so right you can feel the lump in your throat? I'm using it on a standard matt screen, 6 feet across. The projector is a little behind my head and two feet above the sitting position, eco mode is always on. Feeding it with s-video (for now) from a toshiba 2109 DVD player. I'm am absolutely content with this thing. Also NEC have put a three year TRANSFERRABLE warranty on these babies - next day swapout. You can buy one off the guy down the road and STILL have piece of mind, EVEN in the UK. They must really trust their kit. In fact this was the deciding factor for me - I was a lucky sod and bought mine of ebay for 1100 quid :)

Any Problems: I have to agree with shahadim - the only thing that lets this down are the menus. But then again, they are customizable. Also the on/off button - you want to add this to your learning remote as part of a macro? do bear in mind that you have to keep the power button pressed down for a couple of seconds to get it to turn off/go to standby. Haven't found a way round this

Excellent projector for the price. Colors are really bright and the screendoor effect is minimal and total non-issue with just a tiny mis-focus (the projector incorporates MLA). Noise level is ok and very good at the eco level (which reduces brightness from 1500 lumens to 1200 lumens). Great warranty (3 years + 6 months lamp) All in all, a good projector to look into if you're considering getting one.

Any Problems: Some of the menu choices are buried deep (like aspect ratio selection). However, the menu is customizable so one can play around with it.

I am using this for Home Theater and am very satisfied, and in economy mode it still gives a bright 1200 Lumens but still has plenty of contrast. Also with the MLA I can only see screendoor if I look hard with bright images. I had a VT540 and am glad I updated. Also compared to the VT650, but the contrast is much better on the LT157.
