This projector has a very bright and colorful image. You can pick them up used quite reasonable and I agree with the previous review that the MT850 compares to units much newer. The menu does show total operation hours and a resettable lamp counter. Look under "help" then "information".
This unit came in from a school & we tested / resold it. The unit ran fine - no light seeps out & is pretty quiet. For it's age it still can compete with many around, but projector central is quite incorrect with it's claim of 1080i/720p. With an actual maximum resolution of 1024X768, it's far better for office than HT. We hooked it up to our LG HDTV reciever & worked fine up to 720i, after 720p the projector ceased to find the signal. Average contrast, menu doesn't show bulb hours either
Any Problems: Smelled funny - but that was probably the individual projector fault :-)
