NEC VT800 User Reviews

Bought this unit on e-bay with 20 lamp hours. For my small office it is excellent. I have it on eco mode and even then it is very bright. Using "Display Mate" to adjust and calibrate the projector the colors were right on. Tried Blue Ray on it (1080p) and HD/DVD. It is truly amazing. Noise levels were very low.

after shopping around for about 3 months, which is my usual time when purchasing anything electronic, i found the amazing nec vt800. i bought it for my home theater setup, which consists of the vt800, pioneer 575 dvd/recvr, and an elite 100" 16:9 screen. i run the dvd and cable box both thru hdmi and the picture color, quality, and clarity is amazing!!! i'm an audio/videophile, pro dj/vj, and do IT/AV work for a living. i've used everything from low quality crappy dell projectors to $100,000+ digital and barco projectors. to say that i couldn't be more pleased with the vt800 is an understatement! it's amazing that i can control the projector via my wifi on my iphone as well. the other post on here where the teacher said it's a lil hard to understand in the advanced mode[s] must not be very knowledgeable about electronics, b/c the setup and config on the vt800 is as simple as it gets. the options are limitless and incredible for something i paid $829 for. bottom line.....BUY THIS PROJECTOR!!!

Any Problems: no problems, but i wish that nec would've put in a dvi input instead of two vga inputs. that's literally the only thing missing on the vt800.

I am a high school teacher with a mobile DJ/movie business on the side. I needed a projector than could handle everything I do which includes MS Powerpoints, movies, and occasional Guitar Hero with Xbox Enter the VT800, which I found to be an outstanding value of a projector with plenty of features. Picture quality is sharp & crisp especially when using the HDMI input with video games or watching DVD's. Micorsoft Powerpoint slideshows have never looked brighter or better. Construction feels solid and durable. Teacher will appreciate the built-in speaker because you dont need to hook up external speakers unless you have a large classroom. I highly recommend this projector for its great value and quality.

Any Problems: Menu can be a bit confusing to navigate especially for some advanced settings.
