Projector News

June 9, 2006

Hi folks,

Well, I was doing my best to get the Canon REALiS SX60 review posted by today, but it isn't in the cards. We've been working on it all week, and doing side-by-side comparisons with the Optoma EP910 and the Dell 5100MP (all three of which are 1400x1050 resolution projectors). This extends the review time, but gives us a better take on each unit's strengths and weaknesses. It will take a few more days to get this one wrapped up.

Many have asked about the review of the Optoma HD7100. The first unit we received was a preproduction unit that produced a terrific picture, but had some trouble recognizing and synching on certain DVI source signals. This week we received a second production sample, and we do not see the problems on it that we were having with the original unit. So we will get that review posted next week.

We have other units in various stages of review process now, including the Mitsubishi WD2000. If there is a model you'd like to see reviewed, don't hesitate to drop us a note at comments@projectorcentral.com.

By the way, on Wednesday this site experienced a new peak in readership, hosting over 80,000 user sessions in a single day for the first time in our history. We are grateful for your enthusiastic response to our site. Your word-of-mouth advertising to friends and colleagues has been invaluable to us, and we deeply appreciate it.
